Announcing Jabber, the On-Chain Messaging Application Built on Solana

Bonfida is excited to announce the launch of Jabber, a mobile messaging app that is available on iOS and Android.

Bonfida recently delivered an on-chain messaging service, built on the Solana Name Service (SNS). This application is available to all Solana wallets.

Let’s explore what Jabber has to offer.

1. A Customizable User Profile

You can personalise your Jabber profile by uploading a profile picture and writing a bio about yourself.

You can easily monetize your DMs and groups by setting up a price per message (in SOL) that other users will have to pay to message you. This provides content creators with a trustless way to monetise their work and interactions.

2. User Tipping Function

On Jabber, you can send and receive tips in FIDA. This allows you to tip everyone from your friends to content creators or influencers you follow.

3. Group Chat Function

You can create or join group chats. With this function, you can host AMAs or even set up your DAO discussions directly on-chain . However, unlike direct messages, group messages are unencrypted.

What value does Jabber add to the Solana ecosystem?

Jabber is the very first mobile messaging app built on any blockchain. Bonfida believes that Jabber will bring more social applications to the Solana ecosystem by allowing its users to send encrypted messages.
